Hey guys, i got a t4 with a MM5700 on the way. I'll be running mostly 3800 and 4200 matched packs. What gearing do you guys run ? I have a 100' by 100' packed sand track. lots of high speed sections and techical in the middle. The sand is pretty compacted and wind blown so theres NOT alot of drag. Looking to stock up on a few spur gears and pinions. I run a revolution mod 14tx2 with 87 spur and pinions from 17 to 20. thanks. Dan.

you'll be good with what you got.

also polskie how was running a 19 the first time being safe? not sure i understand, if you gear to high you will heat up your motor also. as well as being to low geared will heat it up too. if you have a temp gun try to get between 130 and 150 max with your gearing after six minutes.

good glad it worked out for both of you. as for the temp gun i keep mine much closer to 130 but some do run a bit hotter that use this method. i like longevity so i run a bit cooler.

i ran a 18/87 with a 12x3 in my t4 and it wasnt to bad. I would go with a 17/87 with the 10 and a 19/87 with the 19t.

"If you gear to high you will heat up your motor also. as well as being to low geared will heat it up too."

Short gearing will also create heat? How does this work, usually I get undesired performance results, but room temp motors and room temp batts with the short gears.

Hey ,I'm ordering a Novak 13.5 to run in stock class with my mamba esc. Probably get the non pro without the new rotor in it. Don't want toget kicked into 19t after one race. LOL What kind of gearing is a good starting point? The track is technical, only one straight, about 90' long, medium size, clay ,sand, dirt mix. Dusty when dry but usually watered down before most races. Running stock 87 spur too. Thanks. Dan.
