A little off topic..
I will call it the EJ.5
It is a saddle pack design with trays that are 74mm long x 48mm wide and 19mm deep with nice solid headers to protect your packs.

Nice thinking out of the box, but wont the motor mounted like that cause handeling issues?....Looks good though.

Default mechanical brakes and reverse...

Has anyone worked out how to have direct drive, mechanical brakes and reverse with the TeknoRC kit?

Why don't you check out the Tekno thread - just search it. There is heaps of answers there.

I managed to get it working but he ... it was an nightmare and dont know anymore what i have exacly done but i moved the reverse to the grip button on my 4PK and have brakes on the normal trigger. I beleive some mix channels with changed EPA's en then linked the button to that specific mix chan with an new EPA.

No room up front for the motor. I tried several different configurations and it just won't fit. The motors are all too long and hit the steering post, I tried leaving the spur in the stock position but the motor won't clear the front bearing carrier. You can't get close enough for proper gearing. The front bearing carrier is pretty thin already. I guess I could have tried redesigning it creating a cut out to clear the motor. That might be a possibility in the future.
I did this truck for a customer. I am trying to get a used .5 now and will look at it again when I do.
I will sell this kit to anyone interested.
$75.00
Thanks
Dan

It shouldn't. the motors that will be used are regular 1/0th scale motors. Either brushed or brushless... The battery weight should more than compensate for the motor being up there. It really was the best place to put the motor. If I put in on the right side in the rear, batteries would have to stand on edge putting a lot up weight way up high, and would create a terrible weight balance problem on the left side.
These trays will hold ANY Lipo Saddle pack from MAX AMPS and any NIMH saddle pack configuration safely and secure.

Finishing up a MBX5T conversion. The balance came out pretty good with the 6S pack. Will finalize some wiring runs and get it finished soon. The original weight without tires and fuel was 3333 grams (full tank of fuel would be approx 168 more grams bringing the total to 3501). The weight after the electric conversion was 3436 grams without tires.

I ran it like that for a while. Mixed my mech brakes from channel 3 and left the esc reverse on throttle channel but tune brakes out in your esc program.

So you set the -ve exponential on the brakes to kick in at a point on the trigger after reverse would have normally kicked in. It's a balancing act. Too much reverse trigger and the brakes will kick in but a light push on the reverse trigger and it goes backward. You could go further and tune +ve exponential on channel 3 so reverse speed slams in with less trigger movement.

I eventually tuned it out completely cause I found practicing with no reverse made me a drive better lines and crash less.

Hey a buddy of mine has an old Ofna ravager and wants to electrify it. Is this possible? What would he use, and where would he get it?
