Tower Hobbies always has coupons for $25 - $35 off a $200 order.

I would just buy a rustler or stampede.

Well I have a rustler and a XXX-T MF2. I love my Rustler for bashing and after playing around with a lot of upgrades (not expensive ones) and some dremel work it actually races pretty well. It is darn near indestructable. So if you need to stay under the $200 range for an RTR I'd go Rustler. If you can save up a little so you can start out with brushless I'd go with the XXX-T Sport brushless. Brushless, better handling truck, good basher, decent racer, and better radio.

My first truck was an Evader. It was good enough but if I could do it over again, I would get a T4 or a XXXT kit and a decent radio.

Right now the best deal going is the brushless RTR Losi XXXT just under $400. It has a good radio and a maintenance free brushless motor/esc from Novak that will last a year or two. It will cost more, but it's worth it in the end.

At the very least, opt for the RTR T4 or XXXT with the brushed motors. They only go about $235.

For around $200 you can get something decent, but for additional $100-200 more you can get something really good. So why skimp?

I would get the xtm xcellerator, you can pick them up for like $130 rtr and they are a great truck.

Then pick up this.

if you google for towerhobbies coupons you can find a $10 off a $25 purchase one.

Then I would just stock up on spare parts, the parts are cheap but may not be at your lhs. If you search the forums you can find people who run the truck and they can tell you what parts may break and anything else you may want for the truck.
