Default Piston/Sleeve Question

How do you remove a piston/sleeve on an engine with a broken rod?

Thanks

You have to take off the head and the backplate. Then push the piston and sleeve out through the top of the case. If it's a pull start engine you'll have to remove that before you can remove the backplate.

Here's a link to a good article with pictures.

Dont mean to interfere here but,,, why repost a thred that already exists!!!!!

My mach 15RE engine:
I took the head off to inspect it and the piston sleeve pulls out with no problems!!! Is this a sign of premature engine wear? It only has about 1 and a half gallons through it !!!!
How much resistance should there be when turning the flywheel all the way over at topp dead center?
Thats with everything back together and glow plug in as well.

Thanks, but I can't use the ziptie method. Theres no way spin the flywheel and exert pressure on the piston due to the broken rod.
