Default Old Fuel

Just a quick question about fuel. I have about half a gallon that was purchased about last September. I kept it in my basement, in my bench area, under a table. This room has no windows so it hasnt been hit with sunlight, and my basement is always a few degrees cooler than the main level. I havent moved it since I placed it there since I havent used it. My question is if this fuel spoiled or is it ok to use? thanks

That fuel should be fine as long as your basement is dry,and the cap was on tight . It won't be quite as good as brand new but it will work fine.

I wouldn't worry too much. The biggest problem I see is when I am in and out of the bottle many times. The more it gets opened, the faster it will go bad.

Trying to tune an engine with bad fuel is impossible. You'll wind up chasing the needles all over and it will never run consistently. Running just 1/10 gas truck monthly in the summer usually will let the fuel sit long enough that the last half inch of a bottle will tend to be a bit sketchy. I always much sure I'm not running fuel from the end of a gallon in a main.

Bad fuel works great for lighting the BBQ though. Burns clean and leaves no taste like lighter fluid.

If you had it sitting on a cement floor, you might want to just get a fresh gallon.

No it is not, fuel from your tank that was used will have containments from the exhaust. So you either have to run it dry or disposed of it properly.
