After racing r/c cars for 9 years I have had many radios from old am to new fm budget and high dollar radios. I have owned an M8 and like it ok, I tryed out a M11 from the hobbyshop I worked at for a week and didn't like it and then tryed the R1. I have tryed many and for my styl I like the 3pk with spektrum whether it be the futaba 2.4 or the spektrum system most of us have. If you want a high end radio the best thing to do is go to your lhs and hold each of them. All the top of the line radios are pretty equal its just what one fits in your hand best and what one you can reach the controls on good.

While I greatly appreciate your input, other factors also lead to my decision to purchase this setup after all:

Airtronics M11 (Transmitter Only No Receiver or Servos)
(2) Airtronics 94359z Servos (200oz-.10sec @ 6v)
Spektrum DSM 3-CH Pro Series Surface Module/Rx: AIR M8/M11

(With the caveat that I may get the Airtronics 2.4 GHz module down the road depending on how things go). For those who favor Nomadio, Part of my dilemma is that with the Nomadio system the only support I would have would be on-line. While it may very good, I need a face-to-face conversation from time to time and my LHS do not carry Nomadio. That may be in part, the reason for them not favoring Nomadio, but with the system I bought, there is a lot of local experience, thus ease of problem solving. Worst case, I scrap the whole thing in a year or two and start over, but hey especially in electronics, nothing is forever, right? Secondly, I think I tried to fool myself into thinking I would end up a single all-for-one radio, when if fact, most of you have said that you have more than one. I did review your suggestions. I looked at the net photos. There are a lot of radios out there and a fair number of M11's. I went the LHS and held them. I may be all wet, but the Spektrum was too light for me. (Might change my mind later of coarse) Can't argue with the likes of Futaba, Helios, etc, I just got to a point where I had to make a decision. Anyway, thanks for all your advice, pro & con.

Just so you know you'll get faster response and better centring with digital servos, versus those Analogs.
