That is one thing I didn't like about the losi's, the race level kit is pretty different parts wise (not material wise) than the RTR. With AE stuff, the RTR is pretty much different material less some hop ups, but not things like a whole tranny and all. But, I give it to losi, you do get better electronics.

Losi builds a solid RTR and a rock solid kit for sure!

Dont hop on the Losi band waggon quite yet. Before you make your decision check out the Associated GT2 RTR. If you are thinking about getting into racing its a good truck to go with. It comes pretty much ready to race out of the box. If you upgrade the shocks, rear hubs, and the diff you have the factory team version of the GT2. It also runs about 50 bucks less on Ultimate Hobbies then the Losi does. Im not trashing Losi at all im jsut saying check the Associated out. In fact, im planning on getting a NT2 next. My brother has had Losi for years. I decided on the Associated for my first truck because my LHS carried alot more Associated parts then Losi parts. When i get the NT2, ill prolly make a decision on which brand ill wanna stay with. Also dont let anyone tell you that one of them breaks more then the other. They both break pretty much the same. Expect to spend money on parts reguardless of what truck you go with. I would deffently consider in your final decision what parts your LHS carries. Its so much better when the parts you need to keep your running are in stock.

i have a few 3000 MAH batteries, how can i get more life out of them and more run time.

I am currently charging my batteries with a Hobbico AC/DC Multi Charger 905

DC input is Volts
AC input is 110 volts
Trickle charge is 35-75mA
and fast charge is 5 amps max

assuming these are stick packs? May not be worth it to try what I would do. But you could start here:

0. Get Better connectors, I like Andersen powerpoles.

1. Get a better charger. The Reedy Quasar Pro can be had for $50 - $60 and is one yet of a unit for the price used. Digital, 20 Amp discharge, does NIMH and Nicads. No external power supply. Reliable after the update.

2. Break the packs apart, reassemble side x side, and equalize them on a discharge tray. Not sure if 3000s can take it, but you could pickup a cheapo integy indi octane 2 discharger. Works great for 3300s I know for a fact.

3. Always equalize before charging, but don't equalize a fully charged pack and then charge. It needs to be a rested pack (ie- no fresh from the vehicle).

He means totally take the battery packs apart!!!!
Discharge your pack !!!!
pull the batterys !!!!
put them side by side !!!! +-+-+-+
soldering new tabs on them positive to negative !!!!!
solder your connectors back on !!!!
equal them out !!!! Meaning all should have the same voltage
then shrink wrap it
basically building your own pack!!!

You pretty new to this so its not reccomended by me anyways
