Default Need help with Caliber 3ps/Reciever

So im kind of in a situation.

I bought an X-5 recently, but my reciever for my 3ps is too big. I need to find a micro receiver (blue). However, the only 3 channels i see say they are for the M8/M11. So i dont want to spend 100 bucks for a receiver and find out it doesnt work.

Am i just SOL and buy a newer radio? Or will the micro blue recievers work? I understand that as long as it is not synthesized, it should work, correct?

My current setup is FM 75Mhz, nonsynthesized.

The Caliper 3PS is still the best handling radio ever. I believe it should work. You may also be able to find a Novak or other aftermarket receiver to fit your needs. Possibly even a new one.

I used to have a Caliber and used a blue micro receiver with it. Worked just fine. Have no idea what the receiver number was, but it was a fairly new one. No problems -- just put the crystals in and good to go.

It will work just fine.

Just a thought... double check the rx to see if it's the old style or the new Airtronics z plug version.

I still have a 3PS laying around... this reminded me of one time I bought a used blue micro rx.... and didn't know it was the new (standard) z plug style and I smoked it the first time I hooked it up. (polarity is backwards on the old stuff)

Hope I didnt' confuse you....

ill check into it. im pretty sure all new rx's use z plug. does this refer to the polarity, or plug type?

polarity... z plug is just what they called it when they switched to the standard neg/pos/signal like everyone else.

It has been several years now... but the 3PS was old-school so your stock 3PS rx should have the old airtronics pos/neg/signal setup.

no biggie... just a heads-up

its the old style. Ill make sure i research it before i install it. If i remember correctly, I had to swap pos & neg on my novak gtb to work with my old reciever.

Thanks for the heads up.

Yes just switch the POS and NEG between the old airtronics receivers and the newer blue airtronics receiver. The new receivers have the POS in the center position.
