JConcepts Thread
I figured I would start a thread about JConcepts in here in case you guys had questions, concerns, or comments. I know there is already a thread for the BJ4/BJ4 WE, and Im leaving those alone. So this is for the bodies, wings, and other accessories. I'll also update with news and new product information when I can. :tire:

Andy tell jason hes gotta get pics of the tires on the site :D

We already make 4wd bodies for both, 1/8, haha. I cant say whether or not we will make those in the future. Currently we have a million things going on, so once those are sorted, we'll take a look at new projects. As far as the Kyosho, they offer a "hopup" body for the ZX5, which is heavily JConcepts inspired. rcdude-As everything is finalized, believe me, you'll be bombarded with pics, haha. I'll post more as soon as I can. |
i have a question about the steering on the BJ4 W.E.
i know this is mainly for other products, but no matter what i do i have way more steering to the left then i do to the right, and it wants to torq the chassis as well. i made sure everything is assembled properly in the steering rack assembly, the steering turnbuckle is proper length, the servo is centered, i tryed angleing the servo horn, i tryed adjusting my epa. i dont know what to do? and for my other cars i have no problem. please help. |
You'll have to excuse the brief response as its a little late here, haha. I'll give it some more throught tomorrow. Off hand the only thing I can think of is that you set your epa while the car was on the bench, not on the ground. Make sure its "block to block" with weight on the wheels, touching the ground.
If youve done this, and the car still has more steering one way than the other under power, make sure nothing is binding up. The bearings, the cvd is put together properly, etc. Maybe if you want to post a pic or two of the car so I might be able to spot something that was overlooked? |
try this...
Center the trims on your radio. Put the servo horn on your servo as straight up as possible. Then use the SUB-TRIM on your radio to completely center the servo horn straight up. Adjust the servo horn to steering rack tierod so that the steering rack is centered while the servo horn is straight up. An easy way to do this is to use the the two screws that attach the graphite link to the steering rack arms (see photo). Now make sure you give your car zero degrees toe-in or toe-out with the steering tierods (at your preferred ride height with the equipment powered on). Then compare both steering tierods and make sure they are the same length as each other. Set the Dual Rate (D/R) on your radio to 125%. Now use the End Point Adjustment (EPA) on your radio (at your preferred ride height) and make sure the the steering blocks go all the way to full lock both left and right. That should be it, your car should turn in the same diameter circle on the track both left and right. I use an Airtronics M11 and a Ko Propo Servo and my EPA is set to 80% both left and right with equal travel both ways. There might be slight differences using other equipment because servo travel is different between radios and servos. Mark |

hey andy,
im just wondering, why can't you get the BJ4 w.e. body through g.p., but you can get just about every other body? |
Andy,
Great Job on the thread... keep up the good work. JConcepts has long been known for great customer service when it comes to provividing their customers with parts and tech support . Later Kevin Boyle :spidey: |

Sorry to give you the bad news, but if you need one, just order it direct. :tire: Kevin-Thanks a bunch! Im trying out some new outlets to cut down on the email load we recieve and maybe even increase our exposure some. |
I'm looking at the steering rack and servo saver on the GT2, and I'm thinking this thing would work on my BJ4WE. Anybody try something like this? The geometry seems to be just right.
|
I know this has been mentioned by many in the past, but I feel that stuff like this needs to be echoed again.
I've purchased a handful of bodies in the past from Jason at JConcepts, and each and every time, the service was not only really good, but the items were on my front porch in less than 2 days. This time, something I ordered on Friday afternoon was on my car last night. I've waiting longer for other manufacturers that frequent these boards to respond to e-mails. I'm on the waiting list for a BJ4WE, and after finding out this morning that the latest kits are delayed right now for about 3 weeks, I still can't wait to buy one of these cars. This is really a first class company with a first class product. doug |
Doug,
Stormer has 4 BJ4WE's in stock if you need one NOW. I'll have to agree with you on JConcepts customer service, they are right up there with Novak. |
Yeah, I know, but I know that they can't possibly make as much selling their kits to dealers, so I'll hold out. I'm in no hurry (though I'm always impatient), and it will give me time to find an R/C-oriented anodizer that will help me rid my world of BLUE. :)
Plus, Stormer is marking it up another $25 on top of that... |
When I had a problem with my original bj4 on christmas day - I got a mail back from jason same day!!! dedication.
|
I agree about the customer service with JConcepts. I had an original and bought a conversion kit that was short 2 screws, and I told him I could have lost them and am willing to pay for them. Well, the NEXT DAY the *whole* hardware set was in my mailbox. I love JConcepts!! I love the bodies, so slick and aerodynamic I know its faster, maybe not a lot but hey it works. Thanks for throwing this thread up.
|
The combination of race-bred products and amazing service is easily the best I have ever seen. Big enough to compete, small enough to care. (lets turn this into a praise JConcepts thread! haha)
|
+1 on jconcepts customer support......none better.....anywhere, period.
andy....... what's the latest on a jconcepts sponsered electric event at the lake park track in tampa in the fall? |

ApexSpeed-Trust me, we are working our hardest to get more kits out there. There are just some things you cant control. Trebor/oople- Jason is awesome about email turnaround time as well as serivce, it is obviously one of our main focuses and it shows.

(oople, I wont forget the UK guys either ;) ) We definately appreciate all the praise guys, like I said before Jason works tirelessly to make sure everything that we do is "right", and that every customer is satisfied. |

JConcepts needs to drop all other projects for now! The XX4 is in serious need of a JConcepts body!!! I am embarrased to take that ugly thing to the track!

losiguy69, Jason B-The compliments are deeply appreciated, I'll make sure Jason and Brad get a chance to read the thread! |
Just a teaser for you guys...
Congrats to Ryan on winning Gas Truck....using some new "stuff". http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/8638/jc1tj3.png |

To me the stock xx-4 body is probably one of the better looking ones on the market. It looks more buggy like and less space ship like. |
I will make another echo, customer support is awesome. E-mails are always answered within 24 hours. Fast, I mean fast shipping. Add to that great products. Who can go wrong? But a question, is it possible for another 4 wheel drive buggy based off the tc5 platform. I would like to try a belt driven 4wd but don't want to soil myself with a losi ;)
|
Wow. I haven't had the need to deal with the customer service yet but it make me feel good to know that it will be a good experience. Makes me feel better that now that I finally did jump into a 4 wheel that I picked the right car for the job.

I like the new JConcepts hoodie that Ryan M. is wearing in the picture, but I hope JConcepts was not involved in his wardrobe after that! Seriously, is he wearing short pants or long shorts? What do you call those things? Also, when did it become popular to wear pulled up black socks with tennis shoes or skateboarding shoes? Must be a California thing or something... I've seen the other pros that reside in Cali doing the black sock thing as well. Call me old fashioned, but the kids these days in their teens look ridiculous, and I'm only 8 years removed from being one!
|
Agreed. Cool hoodie, stupid short pants and socks. He must not have looked in the mirror that day.
|
When you are that fast you wear whatever you want.
