I'll be trying them out on a wet-clay indoor off-road track. Never tried green on this track but I have tried blue (Ellipse sanded to slicks) and they were great, though they didn't last long once traction came up. Curious how these will be for the compound and the size/weight. My newly mounted SII blues are 25g heavier for the 2whl set and 20g heavier for the 4whl.

Unfortunately not all the compounds came in at the same time and more compounds are on the way (green, blue, and clay). Yes, this tire design is more geared towards dirt oval, but has been very good in testing for sealed/glued off-road tracks as well.

I like the sidewalls, nice poker face at the track a few weeks ago when I was recommending it. Are the new smoothie 3 inserts bespoke, or do the standard inserts squeeze into the lower profile smoothie 3s?
Yes, the inserts are specific to the Smoothie 3's, the standard Dirt Tech inserts will not fit. |
Any chance these spring adjustment clips will fit on the 13mm AE shocks? I’m having trouble getting my ride height with the stock spring collars. (Not the limiters, the ones that go on the bodies)

What are the handling effects of cutting the 4wd pin swag front foam in half vs using the full foam?

https://jconcepts.net/big-bore-shock...ravel-kit.html Make sure you have the right lower spring cups on your AE buggy as they have different sizes that can affect where the spring sits. |

What do you plan on using these for?
I guess I'm as curious as everyone else - developing a new slick in compounds nobody uses where slicks are used is an interesting choice for sure. Maybe it really is a dirt oval thing more than anything else. Any insights PW ? The compound nobody uses just dominated the PL Shootout with Davey Batta taking the win and Matty G TQ'ing and finishing 2nd on the brand new "Blue" Smoothie 3's ;) https://scontent-mia3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...9g&oe=67DDD7E8 https://scontent-mia3-3.xx.fbcdn.net...8g&oe=67DDFA4A |
Be cool to see the carpet / turf tires get some different compound love too.

Congrats! Begs the question - we've been running on indoor clay for decades. Why did it take this long to start using blue/green compound over the traditional gold/silver compounds? Is it a wet clay vs glued clay thing? Or did nobody ever think to test it before?

Any idea when the M17 Finishline bags may be back in stock?

I don't think it's about taking so long to try different compounds. It's just each track has different dirt, track prep, climate, etc... A majority of tracks still use clay as the fastest, but there are still plenty of tracks that use different compounds as well. Hobby Action uses both clay and long-wear, Rainman uses blue, WORC uses greens, etc... Tire wear is also track dependent (abrasion, wet or dry, etc).
