Default GTB problems???

I have a gtb with a 13.5 in my MF2 and with only IB batteries I have a very bad stumbling problem from stop to full throttle. It is only with IB batteries. I have 3 IB's 2 38 and 1 42. With GP 3300 and 4300 it does not do it
I have re sync the esc to no avail.

WEIRD huh anyone else wit the same prob? Only thing I can think is ib might have a faster inital voltage drop causing it......

HELP!

Hey Chris I know you have been having problems. Your qualifier on Fri night was not good, but something with your IB's. That was weird.

My IB 3800's work just as well as my gp 3300's with my gtb/6.5

Default Whats up Chris!

Is this the first case I've heard of where the tape along the sides of the battery box might make a difference?

Graphite is conductive. Losi sells the tape. No one uses it. IB's are a bit longer than GP's. They work fine in my truck. This does not add up.

Weird is the word.
Have you tried the 13.5/IB cell combo in your XXX-CR?

yes there is a tape that comes with losi and team AE. i haven't used it for about 4 years now and i have the same batts as you.

are you running your esc wire under your batteries to the reciever? if you are, that is your problem. i had the same thing happen to me, and once Charlie from novak showed me why, i had no clue. i now run the 9" wire from my esc to my reciever, going up to the steering servo then to the reciever. going under that betteries caused major issues over time.

what happens is that the wire ends up under one or more of the cells and when you land from any jump. i glitched. sometimes 2-3 secs. and sometimes so much that i had to pull off the track. what happens is when you land the wire is being pinched by the battery cell and causing a short in power to the esc or the reciever or both. this is more likely your problem. people are always quick to blame graphite when it is something else. but yes graphite conducts better than pure plastic but now to the extent that you are having problems.

The early 13.5 motors need another shim installed. He said they know of the problem with the motor and IB's. He said its with the 13.5 only and its a easy fix. So off to novak i go tomorrow
