I thought it was the other way around!!!! The 5700 is the one that handles more voltage right?

go with a gallon jug instead of 5. it wont last as long but will run cleaner cause it will be newer when you use the last bit. and you shouldnt be going through batteries fast.

ok E heres my final say in what i think will be best.
- mamba max 5700 combo. get it from tower for $182
- the trinity pack i showed you or a pack similar to it. ib race spec packs.
- bigger tires (moabs or dirt hogs or soemthign similar)
- less tooth on the pinion. instead of 84 teeth try something like 80.

yes low the 5700 can take more voltage. but the 7700 can take up to 9.6V. the 7700 will also NEED 9.6V to run it off-road. its built as an on-road motor. for smaller wheels and less weight. the 5700 is his best bet because if he does end up getting lipo, he could get a 3C battery and make it outrun the 7700. and the 7700 most likely WONT be able to push his truck unless it has lipo and/or a good 9.6V battery

no the 7700 will give it teh same torque. but it will need more voltage to give it the torque. the 5700 will be the cheaper way when it comes to batteries. you can spend more on getting a nice 6 cell then having to buy a cheapo 8 cell.

handle on the track or handle maintenance wise? performance wise, its a lot different than your rustler. jumping, turning, throttle, etc si all different. it will jump so much better its not even funny. but you have to be careful on turns, you can and will flip it. and maintenacne is the easiest ive ever seen on a monster truck.
