one problem you will have with brushless is the strength of the tranny gears. putting to much to it will just cause you to be in it about every two months or more rebuilding your diff at 15 bucks a whack, and outdrives every other time at another 15 bucks a whack. much more than a 13 turn would be alot for that tranny.

That mini LST is sweet !!! But I prefer just a little bigger RC . REVOs are nice there very popular and are noticed heavily in the race seen. Very reliable TRAXXAS is!

unfortunately with the rustler their is not much in the upgrade area. like an alum. diff. gear or anything that is made with higher grade plastic that the gears are made of to beef it up. its alot of strain on that tranny in that truck. for what a gtb brushless system would cost just another 60 bucks will put you into a t4 or losi rtr truck that could handle such motors and give alot of fun and have better final drive ratio's than the rustler to get the speed he wants. i don't know what the final ratio is in a rustler but to get it to 40 or 45 i think one battery pack would destroy the entire tranny. to see if there is upgrade gears look at robinson's website to see if they make them for rustler.

I dont see why they do that from factory anyway? But that tranny will handle it It has already been proven!

ya, but when it does break, cant i just upgrade, is there a whole new tranny setup that can handle the faster motors, its kinda thoughtless of traxxas, i mean they had to test it before they sold it right? but i think there is some kind of tranny upgrade out there, or mabye a tranny from a faster truck made for that, maybe one that comes with a 10t motor could be fitted onto it???

the tranny should hold up fine. ive read of people fitting losi MF2 trannys onto the rustler though. so you might be able to do that...? a ball diff gear would hold up better too. heres a link.
