Hot Bodies Cyclone D4 EP buggy
#36
looking closely at the buggy, it doesn't seem identical to a bj4. yes, it does have saddle packs, mid motor mount, and shaft drive train...but the suspension set up looks a little different...the steering geometry looks a little different....i don't know what the dimensions are....and maybe the drive train will be a little quieter than the bj4....or maybe the shocks are better than the associated ones on the bj4...or, it may end up being a piece of crap...we just won't know until it's out.
i have both a bj4 w.e. (with losi shocks) and xx4 w.e., both cars have things i like and dislike...i agree with some others, the more 4wd buggies that "work", the better for the class...who cares if they are similar to something already on the market.
imagine how much less progress would be had by audi and bmw, if they didn't copy each other's technologies or "concepts". same with taylor made and callaway golf clubs. i could go on and on...
the reality is, it's good if companies refine technologies that already work....this increases supply, which passes savings to the consumer and moves us all forward. i know this may hurt "the man's" bottom line...but it's good for the hobby.
maybe jconcepts will find a way to raise the bar and create something even better than there already world champion proven bj4! i'm sure i would buy it.
lastly, you guys at jconcepts should just be humble about this whole topic. the bj4 is already proven itself, you don't have to defend it...this d4 hasn't done or proven anything yet.

Hi
Exploded parts diagram.

It must be getting closer to release.
What other brand F/R wheels will work on this buggy?

That kit looks really good, but I hate saddle paks (only because I have a boat load of S-by-S already built and ready to go)
kit looks like a winner!

It does look promising. I just hope it's not as promising as the 501. BEcause I haven't heard a damn thing from that buggy ever since it's release. But this one seems to have potential. Shaft drive seems to be the ideal drive train for 4wd buggies.
