If he is running on a large/fast track and undergeared, the motor would be running at high RPM's, causing higher temps. He would benefit from gearing up and bringing the RPM's/heat down.

BTW Hacker, thanks for your 2 cents and trying to help his issue...........

I bought a 17 and 19 tooth pinion to experiment with this weekend so ill see how it goes. what is a safe range of temps for the motors to be? im new to electric so im a little lost

160 degrees isn't something you should worry about too much. when it gets to the 180 degree mark then its time for concern. I would also make sure your slipper is tight.

Some one can help me too, I have D4 WCE wit LRP TC comp and X12 7,5T, what pinion for smal technical track ( very low grip)

17-18t pinion should do the trick.

Gearing up a motor can lower temperatures if your stuff is just running down the straight reved out. My friend is running a 6.5R with a 20 I believe without temp issues. I run a 22/78 with a 7.5.

on the setup sheets for the d4 is the ride height measured with the lexan tray on the buggy or measured with it off the buggy.

just need some help, would you guys recomend runing a 18 tooth pinion with a standard spur if using a 5.5 motor?

Ive ran a 6.5 with 80/ 18-19 good temps good power.

D4's ratio-2.4375
