The Hyper 8 port is better for a buggy. A .21 will spool up faster, have better top end and get better fuel mileage than then .28.

The Force .28 is what they put in their RTR's.

Definitely the Hyper 8-port! These engines run great with good power, hold a good tune, and get pretty good fuel mileage too. Not to mention, if they are kept tuned well, they'll last 3-4 gallons...In my opinion, the Hyper .21 8-port is the best "budget" engine on the market today.

Just my opinion though....

Well, unless it's cracked, or broken off, I prolly wouldn't worry about it(as the new one will just get scratched too), but if you are like I used to be, and everything has to be pretty , you can get one off of ebay cheaper than anywhere else...

The Hyper .21 with an 063 pipe was a great budget motor for me.

Well, it's not that it has to be pretty, it's just that it happened before I got it, and want to know what's happened to the buggy. Not say, "I don't know, happened before I got it."

So do I have to get the OFNA head, or are their aftermarket ones. I'm not real big on the purple....

Check out eBay. Lots of cooling heads there. Nova maybe.

Their are several different versions of the Hyper .21 8-port engines. They had one that was released in the Hyper 7 RTR PCR buggy that had a matte black head, and they had a "race version" they released that had a purple head, and now they have the "pro version" of the 8-port, and it has a black crankcase with a silver head on it. I'm not for 100% sure, but I think the heads would interchange on all three engines. I'm 99% sure they will interchange between the race version (purple one) you have, and the black headed one they released with the RTR PCR Hyper 7. In fact, when they released the buggy, the early models came with the purple head, and then were replaced with the black head later on. The only difference that I'm aware of was the head color...Both were 8-ports with the same components inside. One was a boost model too...
Hope this helps....Ebay will have anything OFNA you need....

I'm not sure if any of the aftermarket heads will fit or not...

This currently has Jammin JP-2 pipe....think that's an okay combo?

It's A Jammin RTR w/ Hyper .21 8port and Ofna Force .28 1/2 gallon on each.

Also has:
-one piece motor mount ($50)
-z-brace. ($15)
-JP2 Hard Anodized pipe ($65)
Airtronics 94358z Steering Servo w/ Metal Gear Upgrade ($90-$100)
fiberglass disc brake

What do you guys think is a fair price for this buggy shipped? That's like $220 in upgrades not counting the engine. Granted buggy is a little dirty, but I've got it cleaned up pretty good.

Thanks

Quite ironic...that was the combo I first used. It sucks arse bro! The 063 will open it up! I've alos heard the OFNA EFRA2027 is the ultimate pipe for the Hyper .21.

Yip, I agree with Suna on this one...the JP2 pipe will really clog that engine up on the low-end....

Couple of questions.

Who makes this 063?

It has the stock pipe that came with the Force .28, will that be any better for right now?

What are some engines that the JP-2 Pipe would work well with?

Thanks. And by the way, what about the price

The JP2 should work well on the .28.

063 pipes are made by many. OFNA makes one...they also make the 2027.

I would suggest maybe looking into the JP3 pipe as well. I haven't ran one myself yet, but I am told that they are an excellent overall pipe...

As far as price goes....It's worth what you, or anyone else, is willing to pay. Without seeing it, and knowing the condition/age of the servos and other stuff, it's really hard to say for sure. Do some research on ebay by looking at completed listings for the jammin buggy, and try and find some that were similar to the deal you are getting, and see what they sold for...
