Nothing like rubbing salt in the wound, thanks guys!

I like the layout of the BJ4, but at $500, they can keep it.

Split packs in any chassis is the best design for proper balancing, whether it be offroad or onroad.

I just don't know why these companies started with that design ( xx4, pro3, fk04, etc) and then went to stick pack designs.

I'm just not a big fan of the open chassis design in offroad cars, at least for racing here in the States.

It's the BJ4 for people who don't want to wait 6 months or pay $475(?) for their kit :-P

It's because of the perception that one would need different packs for all thier different cars. Manufacturers knew that this would be an obstacle for some customers. It is easier for shops to sell stick packs and with the batteries all on one side racers can use the same packls for stadium truck, 2wd, touring cars (used to anyway). It is going to come back around if only temporarily with the advent of LiPo packs. They can be purchased as saddle packs (Maxamps) but for the most part they are in the classic "stick" configuration.

I am curious, if you had the battery pack down the centerline of the buggy similar to how the Dark Impact does it but in a real race configuration, how well would it perform versus the saddle setup?

Weight in the middle would allow for more rotation in the corners, saddle packs would keep it more level and might even offer more traction.

I've got my MF2 with all of the weight in the middle of the chassis and have yet to run it in it's current state. I'm running a 2s1p li-ion pack and Mamba 5700 and everything fits in the stock battery tray. We'll see how it works this weekend.

I believe it will hit the market. A lot of Japanese manufacture are making a push for electric off-road vehicles this year because the Worlds are in Japan this year.

It will come out no doubt, and it should be soon because it looks finalized, has won races, and nobody have has big gripes about it.

Hope to snap a few photos of it racing next weekend, if it's allowed to be raced then I'll certainly snap away.
