Cleaning

Hello Guys,

I was just wondering if any of you have a particular
way of cleaning your buggy.. ?

I went and took mine out in track for the first time
last week and had a pretty hard time cleaning it..

I kinda like to have the car or Buggy (for this matter)
pretty clean. And tyically, I use Dinatured Alcohol and
air from a compressor but in this case it doesn't seem
to work as well..

Any help, technics or tricks on keeping yours clean?
Thanks in advance...

its tough my track was really wet this past weekend and it consists of a sand clay mix

i spent alot of time trying to clean it and it still looks kinda dirty

i typically use simple green a tooth brush and air compressor but that takes forever so i dont do it that often

another thing that works very well is wd-40 and air compressor that will leave it looking clean however it really wont be any cleaner than using simple green or water

i know because i sprayed with wd-40 then air compressor and it looked really nice but i decided to spray it down with water to get the residue off and it was dirty looking again

i have given up untill i have time to dissassemble it more

unless you are ready to spend alot of time with a tooth brush its impossible to get them really clean

CLEANING;
#1. Remove radio tray.
2. Remove engine.
3. Remove clutch bell & cluch assembly.
4. Cover carby & stinger holes.
5. spray engine/pipe & hole car with degreaser & soak for 20 minutes.
6. Hose off with garden hose.
7. Blow off with compressed air.
8. Remove all pins & dry.
9. Remove ALL BEARINGS, clean & reoil/grease.
Looks just like new!!!! Do this after every race day & your buggy will last a life time

hey can i send my buggy to you so you can clean it

i dont like spraying my buggy down either especially with water

but i have to admit i do it anyway because i dont have the time to completely disassemble after each race

usually i spray with wd-40 and blast dry with air compressor last time it was so dirty i used wd-40 then a high pressure hose but i had removed the radio tray and engine pipe and tank

but no way i woulda sprayed it with anything without being able to immediately dry it off with compressed air

at the last race i saw many guys using the hose between rounds to clean their buggys with electrics and engines still installed i couldnt believe the risk they were taking

1 guy lost a reciever and couldnt get his car to start for the main
