64 pitch is for on-road but I just threw it out there. Explain the gear reduction thing with two spurs.

ok since i can only use t4/b4 spurs on the slipper and the bigget t4 spur is 87t he said i could get a 96t cut the center out and screw that on to the t4 spur i wouldn't use the t4 spur it would be just a mount.

So the T4 spur would be just sitting there?

Correct it would be used as a mount and to mount the slipper on but it would not be used as a drive so it would just be sitting there.

I don't see how it reduces gear reduction though. Sounds like your trying to have a fake 2 speed to me..lol

It helps with the gear ratio. It will give me more torque so that the motor doesn't have to work as hard.

If you put an actual race oriented tread on the car it will make the tires smaller and thus reduce the gear ratio a good bit. Not to mention, I would think that something along the lines of a 10t/87t combo would work fine for what your wanting to do.

That spur gear mod is not a gear reduction it is just using a taller spur. The slipper clutch that he has will only accept T4/B4 spurs that go up to 87t. So he can use the 87t spur that fits into the slipper and bolt a bigger spur to that gear. The motor pinion then would only make contact with the taller spur.
eds24- if you shave much more than 1/8" then you will be cutting into the inside of the gearbox. You then would have to mill out the chassis so the diff gear would not contact it and you would allow alot of dirt to start entering the box.
If you are gonna try the tall spurs though, then I would not lower the gearbox at all. You do not want that gear hanging out the bottom of the chassis. If you are looking for a quick fix, then add shims under the inner suspension mounts and raise the upper tie rod as well. Try to get them all close to parallel for a starting point.

I would just be cutting the posts more then 1/8th then mill a square in the chassis for the diff to go into. I would still keep everything sealed. So for the rear I may have to make a new link mount for the shock tower so that I can lower the inside link becuase I can't raise the outside link. Peace Ethan
