Default Help! Burnt TEKIN ESC!

Hi, just got a TEKIN G11PRO esc from towerhobbies 3 weeks back, fixed it up onto my XXX-CR with the 1000uF 16V capacitor as advised by TSHIELD and in my first pack, poof...... the ESC burnt!!?? Isn't it supposed to at least thermal cut or what?? Have I got a lemon or what, it is a top end TEKIN esc somehow?? I am using a 10T V2 can team orion motor with the 20T pinion as in the XXX-CR manual, please advice, please ......??!!

Killer-We run 9-12 over the wind in buggy all the time with the V2's.

Cheekeon-Did the lil soldered fuse blow?If you dont know where this is look right behind the negative post and look in the book to see what it's there for.
Tekin is the only company that has this and if someone hooks up batteries backwards then it will just pop the fuse sometimes.
Check that.
IF that doesnt work then simply call Tekin and ask for a RMA.
You didnt get a Lemon really just it's electronic and things happen sometimes.

Try the fuse 1st and then call Tekin if that isnt it.Their customer service is A+.

Hope this helps.

Les

Yeah make sure you check your polarity hook up. I've been running a 9x1 V2 based motor in my Yokomo and haven't had any problems. Like it was said before check the solder fuse. Make sure you didn't hook up the Cap backwards as well. If there is still something wrong give Tekin a heads up and they will take care of you. Tekin has some of the best service period.

Got any pics of your wiring job. You might of wired something wrong. I have a Tekin G11 pro in my MF2 and it is sweet. Tekin also has their own caps for the G11 pro now so I would advise using one of those.

Just send it to Tekin and have them either fix ore replace it. How did you have it wired?

The G-11 Pro does not have a thermal shutoff. You can contact me [email protected] and we'll get t fixed. Could be a couple of things. Contact me as soon as you can so we can get you back out on the track and running.

I sent in my G11Pro last Thursday, but it's not getting there until this Wednesday. What is the typical turn around time on repair/replacement/reshipment?

That's good to hear. I sent it UPS ground on Thursday. It's scheduled to get there Wednesday. I'm crossing my fingers it can be back by the 20th, so I can make my triumphant return to stock truck!
