Depends on if you are racing or basching and on what type of surface.
I only race and in offroad on our dusty track, I tear my car completly down after every race day, clean all the plastic parts, use pipe cleaners in the arm holes and q-tips in the ball cups, check bearings replace if needed, rebuild the shocks, and then reassemble. I usually rebuild the tranny every 2-3 days depending on how the diff feels. If you are on a nice dust free indoor track, you could go 2-3 days between car rebuilds. Of course I'm pretty particular about my race cars but the results I get with them don't lie.

And i would say i do just fun riden soo i guess bashing..Also when i take apart the shocks is it hard to set them back right? I need to clean my shocks there little grass in there.

If you are just messing around alot. Get a can of motor spray, and use that on the shock shafts and in the and around the motor to keep things clean. When you start racing, is when you want to start taking your motors apart and cleaning and re-oiling them, cleaning wheel bearings, etc. Hope this helps
