hey guys so you think that the ebay 500 is good it is new in the box so all i really need to get is a battery pack and charger????? So you think that the LHS would still be quite helpful even though i dont buy it from them?

i dotn buy any of my cars from my local hobby shop and they are still real helpful. yeah all you should need is a battery, charger, and fuel. get that for $50 or so from your LHS.

I,ll make your decision even harder JMK ,
Take a look at the Losi LST 2.
Everything you need for about $50 more
Very tough truck, I beat the crap out of mine, it's also very fast, I beat the Revo's at our track with it.

LST 2's are great trucks. theres only one at my track and he runs up front with most of the revos. real tough too. i dont hear much bout them breaking. but the revo is cheaper. and budget can get tight in this hobby

then you dont want an LST. im pretty sure they cost about $550 alone. plus they can be harder to find parts in some areas. revos can get parts everywere

The revo is a great vehicle, so is the LST 2 and a variety of other vehicles out there.

The good thing is you identified what it is you want to do. I was in your boat when I went into nitro and started with an LST 1. What very happy with it. Later went with a truggy and was even more satisfied as the handling was even better and it was a good basher too.

I would say if you really did the whole monster truck thing, the LST2 may be a better vehicle as you get that dual gear selection thing for a high versus low ratio, reverse, a much better radio and electronics and the price really isn't too much different. Also the spin starter is a nice little unit too.

This is no knock on the revo, it is a heck of a truck too, if it came with the same quality electronics it would be a draw to me at least.

I would just try and get the most bang for your buck, but ultimately you got to go with what makes you happy and if you are set on the revo, thats cool.

Oh, you may also want to try and look at www.ultimatehobbies.com . there prices are good there usually as well.

I would say if you can swing it and your LHS has great customer service, throw them a bone and try to at least buy your support equipment and parts from them if you don't want to spend the money on the kit itself. If the difference is only about $20, I probably would go the LHS route .
