I am really not sure about that ? I went to the traxxas site and looked at it and it says contact them or your LHS for more details about the plan. but If it does cost the same as what you would pay for the 3.3. then get it!

regaurdless its pretty hard to break a 3.3 you also cant temp it like a normal race engine nor is it as touchy you can go persay just like the instructions tell you to break it in and in about 5 tanks you can rev the shit out of this engine and never worry about it. the engine is designed for beginners and if you contact traxxas they will tell you that the engine will run upwards of 300 degrees and never have any problems locally guys bash the shit out of these things i mean ive run my 3.3 literally al day and used more than a gallon in a few hours and it temped 330 most of the day but after talking to traxas i ran with it and it still is plenty fun ive easily got or should i say had about 6 gallons and instead of re sleve trade it in and pay less than 100 usd to put a brand new one on. 3.3 is the way to go you ant go wrong with the revo!

if you get the 2.5, ypur looking at close to $100 less. if you trade up in the future, you will spend about $50 i think.

3.3 is closer to 200 so probably more like a bill! But what I was tellin him was the 2.5 would be better for him to get the novice part of his expierience down then pay 50 to 100 dollars and upgrade to the 3.3 . by then he will have hop ups and be more likely to hit the tracks.....but he wants the 3.3 I think ...all though its cheaper to go the 2.5 route for now.

honestly not getting the 3.3 out the gate would be a lil backwards its always better to have more and be able to use it later then to have less and need it. say hes learns quick and does a lil research in the process now he opted for the smaller motor and has to upgrade when all he has to do is get the 3.3 and follow the instructions on how to break in and tune the motor and when he figures it out he will realize that he can lean the motor shim the motor and get more out of it. but either way the truck is almost bullet proof and so are the motors hes gotta do what he can afford and if your gonna go go fast. buy cheap buy twice.i learned that the hard way.he will come to realize this is one of those things that really comes down to you get what you pay for!

honestly lowgered this is really awsome that you have been hanging in with me on the thread i really appreciate it. I also appreciate all of other input from you all it has really helped. So overall if i can afford the 3.3 its is the way to start off? The truck overall is a super durable and dependable machine, as you all said for a beginner like me who has been researching this truck for at least 2-3 weeks or more and really do my homework, the truck would be a great platform to start off with, not too much but if i want it the power, speed and race ability is there. There is tons of parts for this truck and it seems unbelieveabily popular where ever you turn.
A big part of the hobby is the expense and upkeep of the nitro cars. The revo seems like it would have probably the least amount of down time with tuning and replacing parts....
The problem is that i am going to school and working full time and i dont always have a ton of money to spend on extra things....so with the way the revo 3.3 sounds if i dont want to i dont have to spend money right now and buy the after market parts to make it stronger it pretty much comes straight out of the box almost bullet proof.

REVO 3.3 SOUNDS LIKE THE ONE

ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR ADVICE

If the guys ratings on ebay are ok, then go for the lowest price man! BTW you do not need glow plug warmer for REVO it has push button start just hook pbs to revo push the button and wallla!

hate to bust on you lowgeared, but you dont need all that stuff. the air filters, filter oil, and after run oil come with the truck. a cheap 1500 is plenty to start a truck with and that will cost about 15 or so. charger will be cheap. bout 30 or so. get the traxxas fuel. its cheap and does good. the truck should come with a glow plug or 2 extra so your fine with that. no temp gun. it doesnt matter. that truck will run like a champ no matter how hot it is. tires come glued. ebay for 500 free shipping is good. is it new in box or has it been run and taken out of the box before? the rest you can get at the hobby shop for cheap
