help, need new buggy. ALL ideas accepted
hey, im lookin to get into buggy racing but i don't know what to go with. i saw the forum below this but he was lookin for rtr's and there was a lot of good info in there but i'm lookin for a pro kit. i've been tossin around either a losi 8ight, mugen, or kyosho. i'm also interested in what the associated buggy is going to look like. i'll also need an engine and servo's so i'm curious as to what most of the top racers are running. i've seen a lot of O.S. engines and some novarossi's but i already own an O.S. and i love it but it's for the on road car. so let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Basically just do a search if you want more answers.
This is what you will find though, buy what your LHS supports waiting for parts from some online shop sucks. These buggies are good:
Kyosho MP777 WC
Xray XB8TQ
Mugen MBX5R
Hobao Hyper 8
Jammin X1CR
Losi 8ight
plus a bunch of other ones, but those are the major brands.

I recommend the Losi 8ight, the most revolutionary car to come out in 1/8 buggys to date.

Those are all great choices. I raced K cars up until The K2, they are great but parts prices are high. I raced Mugen since the MBX5 first came out. The Mugen is a little tougher than the K cars and parts were a little cheaper. I have now converted to the Losi 8. Parts are cheap, the car has not broken anything yet. I have to say I like the Losi alot. For you it is best to buy the car with the most local support. By that I mean parts at your local shop & guys at your local track running the car so that you can bum a broken part if you don't have it. As for engines, it's RB all the way.

Kyosho parts are the same price if not than cheaper than Mugen. Amainhobbies.com Kyosho prices are great. Highly recommend them And as for breaking K cars. Only thing weak on them is the knuckles. Have they worked out yet why the Losi 8 keeps chewing through throttle servos?

i have nothing against jammin, i just haven't come across it as much as the mugen's and kyosho's. but the racers around here are mostly the mugen and kyosho but i think the 8ight is makin its way in there. i like the way the 8ight is designed and am leaning towards that with some acer racing bearings and an o.s. engine. my lhs carries mostly o.s. stuff as far as engines are concerned so i think that's what i'm going to go with. but thank you very much for all of your input.
