Servo recommendations for 8ight
I'm looking for servo recommendations for my new 8ight. Both throttle/brake and steering.

I've had great success with the new Hitec Titanium geared servo's. Honestly I would run the Hitec 5955(333 oz of torque  ) servo on both throttle and steering. Right now I'm giving a Airtronics 361 a try on throttle and running the Hitec 5955 on steering. If the Airtronics one lets me down I'll be going back to running 5955's all the way around. Ran those in both buggy and truggy all season last year with zero issues. And if you do have issues they will fix it for free! Just make sure being that these servo's are digital that your end points are setup 150%

I`ve had bad luck with Hitec servos , never seem to center right and had a few die for no reason . I have had great succes with a JR 9000t and Futaba 9350 for steering. JR 9000s for throttle .

I've also had great success with the Hitec 5955....This is a die hard servo

JR 8800T(steering) & 4800S(throttle)

I'm running a Ace SD-1015 on my steering and a DS-1313 on my throttle. They are great servos, My Dad also runs one in his Jammin CrT on the steering.

Hitec Tg5995 robot servo here too! No issues with them and have ran them for a few years now in differant cars. And if you do have an issue you cant beat the Hitec replacement warranty.

What do you guys think of the Hitec 5965 and 5985 MG's in a 1/8th buggy?
|
I agree 100% with MoneyWrench I'm running both in my 8ight (Zero probelms) shop around and you can find them for $94.00
Hitec 5995TG. Stronger it is, the less it has to work, and .015 its plenty fast..... http://66.221.209.115/html/hsr-5995tg_ultra_torque.html |
Sorry for the second question but does anyone have experience with Sanwa servos? I'm looking at the ERG-VR for steering, ERG-VX for T/B.
|
what are the specs for the JR 9000's?
|
I personally use JR DZ8450's for both steering and throttle (and steering for all my electric cars too), they work quite well IMO. Generally a durable servo, not to mention response time I believe is a blistering .11. Last I remember they go for $110 each though.

You don't need massive tork with a 8th scale buggy I run .06 and 125oz on throttle and steering the servo overcomes the saver set on high! I run a good fast servo on the throttle for fast hard breaking to correct my jumping.
you need speed more than tork when you need breaks the servo goes full motion to get from full throttle to break Hiteck Jr and Airtronics are all great for me |
