TEAM ORANGE (Novak) FTW!!!

LRP G3 is still nice for $165 from TowerHobbies.
Novak GTX is a killer speed control for $150 from TowerHobbies.
Tekin G11 Pro for $145 from TowerHobbies.

But you could never go wrong finding a nice used Novak GT7, which is what i use in my T4, run an orion 19-turn and a orion core stocker, runs them both great, very efficent too.

Tekin or Lrp. Both are far easier to program compared to the Novak. Tekin hands down is the easiest to use...

I have two Novak GTXs and like them a lot... Have had abosolutely no problems with them after a year of hard abuse. I broke a Tekin G10 only after a few months... a circuit chip sheared off and out of the case. Perhaps it was a freak occurance (I didn't hit anything that hard though )... Everything else about the Tekin I liked... I haven't tried a Quantum yet, so I don't know about that one...

I'd go with the GTX...

I have run the top of the line LRP's and Novak's from the old Cyclone's until now; I have never had the opportunity to run Tekin so I cannot really comment there. The GTX speedo has the best brakes I have ever felt, hands down. The Quantums and Q2's I used to run had great punch, but were never comfortable on the other side of the trigger. You can adjust the GTX to have as much punch as you want, and the brakes feel super-smooth.

Another thing people don't really think of; the GTB can run regular brushed motors and has the same capabilities as the GTX. If you go Novak, which I recomend, I would really suggest the GTB so you can go brushless in the future without difficutly.

I used to run LRP. But ESC thermally shutdown after a month. Never had any problems with my GTX.

Novaks are hard to program? First time I have ever heard that.

Almost everyone knows how to set throttle and brake in any model Novak without even looking at the manual.

I would not say that LRP is hard to do at all but does require more steps.

To each his own.

Having said that I love my LRP 7.1

Unless space is an issue, it is a nice unit. The older Novak C2/TC2 is very nice as well.

Solid, reliable units.

TEKIN !!! no contest.
Ease of use ,fantastic punch ,reliability the closest esc to bullet proof.
Have run Tekin esc's since 1992 ,my original esc's are still working great ,have also had Nosram and Novak but those are history.
