Well its frequency hopping spread spectrum, we know that much. Looks to me like this is really the time when 2.4ghz is going to make a big debut as the new standard for manufacturers. Spektrum is big, but first Futaba now Airtronics, the two biggest names in radios are on board. I'm sure the MX3FHSS will sell like crazy in the shop I work at.

Problem is I have invested so much in Spektrum I have four rx's....And FAAST is not compatible with Spektrum modules. So you have to scrap Spektrum to switch to either Sanwas or Futabas module, and I just cant afford that. Looking forward to when you can get a transmitter w/o a module. KO is the only one that does that now. My M8 is like 6 years old.

Why even upgrade from the Spektrum if you have that? I just ordered the Spektrum Pro w/ receiver and a SR3500. There shouldn't be any reason I need the Airtronics one.

If the arirtronics ones are anything like the Futaba one, i would sell my spekreum and get it.. Look at futaba'ss site and the comparison, the bits are over twice as much and the switching steps are over 8 times more

Actually the M11 module and RX are different from the MX-3 2.4 system. The M11 module is DSSS just like the spektrum and the MX-3 is FHSS. Sad really. Also the 2 systems will not be able to talk to the others receiver. This is what Nomadio_Sales has told me though.....

Honestly, how fast do you ACTUALLY need it to be? I to use the Spektrum Pro system in my KO Propo Helios that I upgraded from the standard system. And guess what? Did'nt feel a darn bit of difference between the two. We're splitting hairs at this point, the Futaba claims sound good (I'm a futaba guy on airplane stuff), but come on we're talking milliseconds. It would take a pro driver on his best day to probably feel anything.
I am glad to see 2.4Ghz becoming the norm world wide, even airplane radios now. Probably within 2yrs every manufactuer will have 2.4 systems as there normal lineup.

In my case, I'm getting my first higher end radio soon and don't want to buy older technology if it's similar in price to the newest technology.

The only radio I've seen to date that may make me buy something new is the new spektrum DX3R. Hopefully it will work with current spektrum Rx's. Looks like a Nomadio. I like the idea of less batteries in it for lighter weight savings, not to mention the menu. www.spektrumrc.com
