Buggy 2WD vs. 4WD
I'm wanting to have an answer from someone who is a good racer and also has run a 2WD and a 4WD buggy, preferably on a high bite clay off road track.
Which buggy is faster on the track, and by how much time...say...per lap is it faster?
I ask because we may be running our B4's against 4wd buggys in a mod class and want to be prepared. We are experienced racers but have never run or owned a 4wd electric buggy.
thanks!

my bet goes to 4wd, especially mod.

2wd slower by about 1sec every 20 second

thanks Dayton...yes I was talking about Leisure.
If you are there I'll take you up on the test drive.

The 4wd will always have the advantage of traction over the 2wd. So it will always be faster.

weight
I was thinking there's a weight difference with the 2WD being much lighter, thus possibly faster around the track.

Weight is not a factor in mod class because you can run any turn motor you want. In a 4wd you could run a 5.5 brushless motor and have no problems controlling it unlike a 2wd buggy. In a a more limited class like 19T or stock lighter weight would be an advantage.
