I currently run 1/10 and 1/12 Electric Onroad and soon will be moving, in a few months, to Northern IN.

Anyways..... I dont want a this car is better than that car etc. I truely dont know which companys make 2wd and 4wd Electric Buggys.

I understand Losi, Associated and Kyosho, but what other companies make competetion buggys?

for 4wd tenth tech makes the predator and academy make the sb v2.
then there is the x5 4wd. the jconcepts bj4 worlds which is sweet. yokomo makes a sweet buggy. tamiya is releasing the 501x. and finally there is schumacher... dont really know who runs those cars anymore?

for 2wd... the x6 buggy, losi,ae, kyoshos new buggy,schumacher and i think that is it.

Thats about all of them. Basically 2wd is cheaper and more durable, but harder to drive. 4wd is faster and more fun, but quite fragile, not as easy to find parts for and more expensive to race.

Before buying a car be sure to visit the tracks that you will be racing at and find out what classes have the best/most consistent turnout. 4wd is fun but many tracks have sporadic/non existent turnout. You will probably find that a 2wd buggy or 2wd stadium truck (pretty much Losi and Associated are the only two choices) will be the best choice for people to race with week in/week out.

If you are going to be near Indianapolis you should look at Planet RC. If you are closer to the Illinois border be sure to check out Leisure Hours in Joliet.

Thanks for the replies.

I am moving up around Michigan City, IN on the lake. Looking to be some time around May June.

I havent had the oppurtunity to visit, so I dont really know what if where any of the local tracks or shops are. I just understand that there are a few offroad tracks in the area.

Just trying to get an idea of what kits are availble so I can begin the "research" part before I get up there.

There are other companies like X Faxtor, Yokomo and Schumacher that make buggies. Your best bet will be either Losi or Associated for buggies.

Schumacher doesn't make any offroad electric stuff anymore, besides tires at least.
