if you are confident in your soldering abilities, you can solder a new antenna on it, I think airtronics sells replacements, but you have to be careful not to screw up the board, otherwise your better off sending it back and have them fix it for you, or find someone local thats willing to do it for you,

The best thing to do is send it back and let them fix it for you. I just sent one in with the exact same problem and they fixed it for free. It was only gone about a week too. I have soldered them myself before, but just know that if you open the case you risk voiding the warranty on the receiver.

Airtronics is good about fixing or replacing them. I would send it in for a new or refurbished unit.

replacing a receiver antenna wire is easy, 5-10mins tops.

also, go to the electrical supply store and get 24gauge stranded wire, you will get about 100 feet of it for what the hoppy shop will charge you for a "replacement antenna" which is the exact same thing.

Anyone know where to buy "26 Awg, 22 Stranded Wire" or typical antenna wire? Thanks Shrub Electric On-Road 9 04-16-2004 05:57 PM
