Default Best sport .21 engine for under $200

What is the best sport .21 engine for under $200. I know Novarossi make a Rex and Top .21 for around that, as well as an O.S. and others. Here are my choices so far.

O.S. .21 VG(P)
Rex .21 BF
RB Concepts .21 S3
Hyper .21 8 port

Any help/comments would be great!

Everyone says that the new O.S. VG is a pretty darn good engine. But the Novarossi 3 port is about $30.00 more and you get the Novarossi longevity.

I raced with a fella that ran all season on his 3 port Novarossi and ran the guts out of it and it still ran strong at the end of the year.

My top choice would be the Novarossi then the O.S.

Skip that last one and add the Werks Team Line B3 to the list and that pretty much has it covered. There was a thread recently where this topic was discussed at length. Should be easy to find.

I was looking for a great motor in that same price range too. And I was 99% sure I was going to get the O.S. .21 VG(P) for my 8IGHT.

But then I saw a O.S. .21 VZB V-Spec in another 8IGHT out on our local dirt track CVRC and I was amazed with the power and speed!! So I ponied up and picked up the VZB instead. (Had to wait another week for funds to get it though).

But, if I was going to stick with that $200.00 price limit, the VG(P) would be going into my buggy. It's a very nice motor too.....

so for the $200 price tag why buy some companies sport model when you can afford a top of the line race engine, the Go Tech .21 5port Race engine is right in your price range and it will run with rossi and v-specs all day, the engine is easy to tune and longevity is good as well. It is a new engine but has proven itself to be all that the others are for less.

Don't forget the Sportwerks 21 V2. I ran one most of the season and was very pleased. Toward the end of the season I ran it with a black Werk/Fiorroni head on it, and many people were surprised when I told them it was the Sportwerks engine. They just assumed it was a "high end" engine. In my 8ight with an old Sportwerks 053 pipe I was getting just shy of 9min run time and had more than enough power for our track. Engine has at least 3 gallons on it and shows no signs of slowing down. It's my go to engine. I currently have a V-Spec and an T21BF and I usually run the Sportwerks on race day. All the engines I have are great but for some reason I'm more comfortable with the SW in the car.

Another question...

Is there nite and day difference between the VG and the Vspec ?
I see for the price of a rebuild on the Vspec, I can buy another VG. As far as the rpm rance goes, the VG is max at 38k and the Vspec is 40k. I mean are there other things I should be looking for in the specifications to be comparing them.
