Default I NEED Spur Gear help!!!!

I REALLY need schooling on Spur Gear application. I ask in my "Wanted" thread, but no one is answering. So, PLEASE, PLEASE, pleasssssse, help me out!!!!

Can someone tell me if Spur Gears from a Tamiya TA04R will fit T3s and/or Rustlers? Need a "concrete" yes or no from someone with first-hand experience, please.

Thanks in advance

Tamiya gears use the metric pitch. If you do plan to use their spur gears be sure to use their pinion gears as well. If you don't then you'll have a bunch of shredded plastic.

The other thing is, does the spur gear key up properly on the T3 shaft?

If you don't have the Tamiya gears then why not buy the AE & Traxxas gears and be sure. What possible gain do you think you will get?

The gears in question are plain old standard spur gears in 48 pitch. Not metric, not made by Tamiya (although they fit those cars, too). What you would buy if you walked into a hobby store and said "I'd like a spur gear, please". Question is will they fit a Rustler (based on the pics in Tower, I would say no) or an Associated T3 (based on the pics in Tower, I would say yes).

Anybody?

That will fit both my RC10B2 and a Rustler/Stampede. those are the only styles of spurs that I ever ran on either my RC10B2 or my Pede.

If you really want, I'll see if I can swap the spur from my TA05 to my RC10B2, if the TA05 and the TA04 use the same spurs. that would open up your gearing options for the TA04 if there were 48p spurs you could get for it

I never thought getting a few cheap used spur gears would be so hard.

Yeah, this is kinda whack. However, the spur gear shown in T-Bird's link is indeed a standard pattern spur and if it fits a B2 it should fit a T3.

just guy the AE and Traxxas gears. Its as simple as that. It wouldnt be so hard if you just went to tower and ordered them. it would take 5 minutes tops.

Default Okaaaayyyy

If no one knows this info for sure, I guess we're back to asking for gears.

Does anyone have any 48p Spurs they KNOW will fit T3s and or Rustlers? No 87s please, unless they are mixed with others.

Default Well

Whats up T-Bird, long time no holla.

To answer the questions of "why buy used" or "why not just go to tower": From what I can see on Tower's "Most Popular" catagory, Spurs are anywhere from $2.70 to nearly $7.00. Lets just take T-Bird's estimate of $3.00. rccardr posted 11 spurs for sale. Thats $33.00 plus say $4.00 for shipping, $37.00. He sold them to me for $20.00, shipped. Thats a WHOPPING $17.00 SAVINGS (YAY me!! )!!!! Thats a LOT to me!!! (well, to my wife, ) When we get a little more "serious", we'll buy more "seriously".

I got rccardr's Spurs today, and maybe 3 of 11 show ANY signs of EVER being run!!! I'll post back after I try to mount one up, but as he said several times, they look just right.

Good point, if you need a bunch of spurs, you're good to go used...way cheaper, and the old lady can buy more shoes, right?

They work on the pede too?

The 48p spur gears from a TA04R went right onto my T3 with NO problems!!! It took a while to confirm, but it was WELL worth it. Guess I should have listened to a Doctor from the start, hehe.
