Default Planet R/C Raceway announces our new points series

Thanks to all our supporters, and we hope that we will bring many more out to our 5 race points series. It will be the first Saturday of every month beginning October 7th. December will be the exception as our annual WinterFest will be the 1st weekend with the points race on the second Saturday.
Check us out at www.planetrcraceway.com, and there will be cash and prizes at the conclusion of the series.

This looks like it is going to be a great series. Anyone in the midwest should seriously consider attending the opening round. A brand new layout is being put in today, so no advantage to the locals.

I had a blast running with you guys this past weekend. Definately worth the trip. I just need to run off road more than once every 4 months though

To all you drivers complaining about the entry fee, especially you sponsored drivers. C'MON guys, it's $30 bucks! $10 of which goes to the Prize Fund. Support your sport! Support your track! If you think you're getting taken advantage of, try to open and operate an R/C track and come anywhere close to profitability. The community and the industry does not support us, it is up to ourselves to keep the doors open.

Thanks to everyone who attended the 1st round of our Winter Points Series. It was a great race, and should be a great series. One point separates 1st and 2nd places in Stock 2wd and Truck. Can't wait til round 2. Thanks again, and keep it shiny side up and pointy side forward.

in my opinion, the $30 entry fee will do nothing to bring new people to the track and in fact keep them away.

You do realize that the $30 entry is for the 1 race a month that is a points race, not the weekly racing, right?

You must also consider the payout. For instance I placed 7th out of 15 trucks. The payout would be $9.00 bucks. And Rayls would make $3.00.

That's $3.00 dollars above what he payed to enter (1st place payout would be $33.00).
But I don't think I really addressed your comment. You are probably are correct, this Series will not bring out new participants to our facility. I did not intend for it to. My intention was to give the competitive drivers something to shoot for, and the facility more exposure. I believe I've succeeded on both points.
The 1st round was our biggest turnout so far this season. Maybe not what I hoped for, but good drivers having good times.
Their was a lot of speculation and conversation coming up to the race. Some good, some bad. But all about the facility, and I enjoy that.
Now regarding the new drivers. I spoke to several at the track day of the race. They stayed to watch the competition. They may not want to run the Series, but they WILL be back. We even sold 2 FTB4's preorder, and I'm pretty sure they were not for bashing at home.
I believe what new racers want is a well run track with good competition. Anyone here on that nite would have seen that.

I'd like to let everyone know that there is a Throwout in our Winter Points Series. It is to be the best 4 out of 5. I hope this is good for everyone, and perhaps we'll have more participants who may think they can put 4 good ones in a row together and use the 1st one as their throwout.
