Default Definition of Stock Motor

What is the TRUE definition of a Stock Motor? I thought Stock motors had Bushings and wasnt adjustable, and Modified motors had bearings and are adjustable. But now I have a motor (Speed Gems 2) that has BUSHINGS and IS adjustable. Set me straight.

Thanks

It's more complicated that that - much more if you want to be picky, the ROAR rules which most 27T stock motors are built to go into motor dimensions at great length.

Your Speed Gems is a modified.

A Speed Gems 2 motor is not a stock motor....
Speed Gems would be modified.
They are very basic MOD's...
Machine wound, bushings, etc....
To get the cost down on them.

Basic's of a stock motor in "US"
27turn single wind
Fixed timming 24deg.
Bushings

For all the rules, go to the ROAR site and get the rules manual.
There are other motors labeled STOCK that fall into the Super Stock cat. 23 turn, etc....

Default Alright

Looks like Speed Gems are divided by Color. Which one do I have if it has a black can, gray label, "yellow" letters, and purple squares on the left side of the label "behind" the Speed Gems letters?
