Default Sway bar stock?

Hey does anyone know where a good general place to pick up some raw stock to build some larger sway bars for a monster truck. I know piano wire works for 1/10 scale electric but what about the larger stuff. What are the factories making them out of? Is it simply steel rod of varing thickness's or is it a special type of steel, etc.

Thanks

Most hobby shops will have varying thickness of piano wire. Plane and heli guys use it primarily. That's probably your best bet.

Randy, I know the losi sway bars are made out of spring steel. Not sure if this helps or not, ya cant really bend spring steel to specific shape or it will snap. Can you get piano wire from KS through your shop?

Yeah I can but I was looking for something stiffer. The sway bar I'm looking to make is for a 12lb monster truck. I was figuring around .090" or better...
