The only main issue I had initially was with the dogbones dropping out of the rear. I fixed it putting 1 O-ring into each rear axle. This is detailed in the latest issue of RC Driver. Also, the diffs need alittle more diff action. I really liked how the vehicle handled however, was as good as my SB Pro V1 right out of the box with better shocks added.

do you have the sizes of the bearings used in the SB Pro? i need a full list of all the bearings. the ones in the diff, the steering rack ones all of them. im making a kit of ceramics for myself and dont have a reliable way to measure the sizes.

Hi Matthew,

It's me, David from HPC Malaysia. We met in Kuala Lumpur during the Asian Mugen Cup 2005.

I am also driving the SB V2 and we are now the agent for Malaysia. Have a question to ask...do you know if the carbon chassis of STR4 ProII fits the SB V2? Personally I prefer black carbon graphite to Titanium Graphite.

I am going to place my new order to Academy and would appreciate your feedback soon.

Cheers,

David

HPCII: The carbon chassis from the touring car is totally different then the offroad car. The TC front end parts bolt directly to the chassis, where the offroad car has entire front clip that bolts to the chassis. Hope this helps. If you need any parts please call me or check out our website at www.modelrectifier.com

Talk to you soon!

do the SB V2 spurs fit the SB Pro? im having trouble getting the gear ratio right. everything gets realy hot and my ESC has thermaled a few times. im running the 70t spur and a 19t pinion. the 19t pinion is the smallest i can go.

You can fit the 74 spur gear on without modification.
There is also an aftermarket motor mount that allows you to get the gear mesh better, it is similar to the v2 motor mount. Maybe Cain can help us out with a link?

Hey everyone.

I believe I worked with Matt on this on the RC10b4 forum (there is a massive thread there for Academy stuff) and the company that JK Racing worked with (A big loss to Academy if you ask me, he was great for the team) was Acratech . I believe the site is www.acratech.net but you have to call them to get the mount. It really makes a difference. You could also try mail ordering the Kose one from Japan, thats what I did.

The V2 I really liked, just no racing for it out here. Especially with the closing of our only hobbyshop (Hobbytown) to get parts, pretty much all nitro. Very strange considering this is the biggest city in ND, and the smaller ones are doing quite well. Heck, opportunity for anyone who knows about starting up a shop!

Dan, do you know how the new graphite chassis is for the SB V2? Is it alot stiffer? I was concerned about the amount of cut outs on the SB V2 stock chassis, and see that the graphite one has this as well which concerns me on high bite situations, especially if this translates over to teh STR4 Pro II as I may pick that up if we get something in the winter going here.

When I bought mine, I got it here:

Champ International <[email protected]>

Give them an email to see if they have it in stock. I attached a pic of the mount.

The Graphite conversion kit makes the SBV2 much stiffer then it was in stock trim. The Graphite looks killer as well, it is cut out of Gun Metal Grey carbon fiber instead of Silver like the press release says. The upper deck has more material up front then the stock fiberglass piece did as well. The most significant part of this conversion is the aluminum chassis brace that spans the upper and lower deck right in the middle of the chassis.

All back orders are shipping today.

FYI, STORMER HOBBIES is now carrying MRC and ACADEMY Products.
