Actually, it's now High Performance Hobbies. When the TQ Pro Shop was sold, the new owner relocated into a bigger, nicer building and decided a new name was in order. This race is off the hook! It's been growing every year, and some other drivers that have attended in the past are Mike Truhe, Jimmy Babcock, and Joe Pillars. Take a look at some of the pre entries posted on techtalk :

My bad, last time I was up there was 99. Then I started college so that killed most of my travelling for awhile.

RC TECH is the best RC FORUM.

However, RC FORUM also just made an Academy English forum.

http://rcforum.co.kr/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=17

I don't know how many people will use it since RC TECH is the best.

I think having one more extra forum for Academy would be not bad for users.

If you can, use our forum too.

thanks

Default So.....do u like it?

I'm in the market for a 4-wheel off road 1/10 buggy, and I just wanted to ask this forum if you all are satisfied with you V2's, or would you look into any of the competitor's models. I really like the price and look of the SB v2, but I've never seen one, and I know nothing about its reliability.

ya, my car was super quick. If I didn't have so many problems with straightaways I might have been more dangerous
Car performed awesomely all weekend though.

jay272:

To answer your question, the SB V2 is a great buggy for the price. I would say its closest cost vs cost competitor is the Kyosho ZX5 which is also a great vehicle. Really, most if not all of the 4wd vehicles are great. I guess you need to identify what your main requirements are.

For me, I always came back to my SB series of vehicles because:

- Durability. They are one of if not the most durable 4wd buggies, period. I always like to say the buggy can go to hell and back in one piece. Would make a nice ad, a driver going to hell and back with his SB
- Support from MRC. Customer support has been excellent
- Dark Horse Mentality. I always loved when running against the field, beating the vehicle hard and not breaking, and telling them its an Academy shaft 4wd buggy.
- Price: This was always the best part, vehicle performed as well or better than the higher priced ones and was more durabile, and the price was much cheaper too.

The SB V2 needs a very few things added out of the box, namely better shocks and I would add at a minimum the center oneway, but other than that, its good to go on most offroad surfaces. If you run on a really high bite, you will probably want to get a graphite topdeck at a minimum to stiffen things up.

Best price I have seen so far was from ultimate hobbies, I think it was $208 shipped. You can pickup some Academy shocks or B3 / B4 shocks or even losis and with that addition and oneway unit, you should be under $280 - 300 .

Any more questions feel free to ask and I will help as much as I can.
