Rick is right though. Just because the resistance is low when you measure it there could be other factors. Either way it's ugly. You know that it still reeks!

For the car to explode like that though there had to be something dead shorting it out.

it might have been a body clip...

a part from another car that crashed... (like a screw, or a nut) etc.

or maybe the solder joint between the battery connector and the motor wire got caught on a battery bar...


i wouldnt be suprised, at my lhs, you can walk the track, and find all sorts of small, metal or plastic/graphite parts.i have left body clips in the battery tray before, luckily only once with a "shotgun" pack.
