[QUOTE=Mike Schumacher][B]We can confirm that Associated WILL make a 1/8 buggy!!! We had our suspicions since the start of the year, however AE have kept their mouths shut and heads down from making any comments.

The same reason there's "Ford Linclon Mercury", "Dodge Diemler Chrystler", and "Chevy GM Pontiac Saturn Suzuki Geo"...because some people are dumb enough to claim they love chevy trucks but think GM is crap...

HPI Pro 4, and HB Cyclone come to mind. Although they serve essentially the same purpose, they have differences enough to appeal to slightly different markets.

An AE 8th scale buggy will sell, as will a truggy, and AE's quality will no doubt be in these too. It's a big, healthy market, only a matter of time...

I agree with the rest in that Associated is slow with coming out with new products but I think they extensively test their products before they are released to the public. They have a reputation to have top of the line kits so they aren't going to just toss something together, not test it, and sell it. Associated doesn't make their money that way. They make their money because of the results on race day.

Yes, AE is making a buggy. It will not share any parts with the Thunder Tiger S3. It is a complete new car, developed 100% by AREA 51. It will be metric screws and hex wrenches, not U.S.

Ummm, Dude, I think that guy, like me is from Sydney Australia. I only figure that because it says AU Sydney under his Avatar

What does "New World" mean if you don't know the world around you?

Default AE 1/8 scale

there has been work going on for this car for nearly 1 1/2 years. 6 mos. on the board and once its finally released it will have a year of track testing. when thunder tiger bought into team ass. it mostly was for the production factor and allow team ass. to get new cars out faster since they will be able to make the peices faster. but the designs for team ass. will still be from the same people. the car looks nothing like a thunder tiger, it also has no real similarities to any other car. it will be a c-hub design but from there it a combo of about four different cars. as team ass. had their top drivers test every 1/8 that was out last summer for nearly a month get their input on what parts they liked of those cars and made subtle changes to their design then began producing it. if anything you may see the next ttr to be more like the team ass. car. i have known of this process for just over a year, but cant say who gave it to me as that would not be right. but i was one of the team drivers that was in the test process last summer that i described.

good luck
