Team Losi XXX-T

I will be getting this in a few weeks for my birthday, and I need to know what batteries to run, I'll need two most likely for a back-up when one is charging and the other one out in the car running it. I was told by my hobby shop that i should get 1500's because they are cheap and get pretty good life out of them... it's cheaper to get 1500's (two of them) then to get one 3000. They had shark 1500's there, but I did not like the looks of quality they had. Any suggestions? And a charger? The guy showed me a Piranha Digital Peak Charger, is this a good one?

Team Orion sells a set of 2400 packs for the emaxx called v maxx packs, they are not matched or anything but I think they would work just fine for your beginner needs and they are very reasonably priced.

And for the charger, you can't go wrong with an MRC Superbrain, for the money, I feel they charge as good as chargers costing twice as much. The Orion packs can be had for about 49.00 for two battery packs, and the charger would set you back about 39.00 or so, depending on which one you purchase, but the one you mentioned is a good one too. The problem with the 1500 sport packs is they lose voltage relatively quickly and then you just cruise around slow, the other packs hold a better charge, which is why they cost more. Matched packs are the best but never cheap to purchase. I highly recommend the Orion packs for the money.

Since I will be buying them, I searched around and found a popular battery, Dynamite. I chose the Dyna-Sport 1500, which is $21.95 each, I'll get two. There was a normal Dyna-Fun, which is a standard 1500, but the Dyna-Sport was a little upgraded (Dyna-Fun is $14) from the Dyna-Fun. I looked in alot of reviews, and Dynamite seems to be pretty popular.

What ever you do, DON'T buy those 1500 batteries. For the past 3 weeks i've been searching the internet and learning prices and what's around. If your getting 2 batteries, The best option would be getting these

"Team Orion V-Maxx Super Duty 2400 E-Maxx Battery (2) $35.95 usa Manufacturer Stock #10900
(Stormer hobbies)"

At $35.95 you get 2 of them and they will have a lot longer run time than the 1500's.

That's the best deal i've seen, Other shops sells these as well and i think they are around the same price or at most $39.95.

I'm only new to this hobby but i've learnt heaps lately and i hope to give the right advice...

I have been doing some heavy ready too... so ugh... ! However, the hobby store told me they ARE cheaper, and they get roughly about the same runnage as 2400's do or less voltage, however, THE POWER IS THE SAME! Also, Dynamite seems to be a popular and worth-wild brand!

if your hobby shop is telling you that 1500's will get the same or about the same runtime as 2400's i would stop going there. They are lying to you point blank and are just trying to get you to spend more money in the long run.

Geez man, I've only just started in this hobby and even i can see the logic that the higher the number, The longer run time...

Wake up to yourself and don't trust that hobby shop...

In a few months time you will look back on this decision and see how silly it was....You will be kicking yourself....

You don't have to believe me because i'm only new to the hobby but you should trust these other guys here, They are telling you the truth because they have been in this hobby for many years....

The hobby shop just wants your money and they see you as easy prey.
Sorry to say these things but i think it's true.....
