Difference between .21 Onroad and OffRoad?
#1

Hi Guys,
I blew up my Picco last weekend and am looking for a new engine, and might have a line on a Collari .21 onroad engine for my XB8....can this engine go in my car? Does it have to be modified at all to fit? This baby screams, and has been used for one race day. I'd like to have it, if it is available and if it will fit.
(The Ron Paris sale on ebay doesn't provide any tech info, otherwise I'd have tried to buy the onroad piston/sleeve/rod from them for my Picco!).
Its coming down to a new RG or 21BF, or hopefully, P5 or maybe VSpec. I've been burned by buying used engines, so now I can't afford to be wrong again.

I just got an RG last weekend...man, it's hard to beat that deal...runs like a top, idles great and it goes forever on a tank. $109 from Tower and it comes with a nice filter and a glowplug...we'll see how fast it is tonight, but it seems plenty fast to me. I'd gladly trade a little "fast" for "easy" and "reliable"...but that's just me.

The engine will fit in the buggy. The difference is in the port timing and cooling head size. You'd have to get the RPM up some by changing the clutch as the onroad engines create more RPM. The problem would be, it would be like a on/off switch, but it will work.
