Default e-maxx shocks

i'm a bit new at this scene and was wondering if stock e-maxx shocks removed from truck and without springs should expand on their own after being compressed. there does not appear to be any leaks.

Default shocks

They should expand a small way out if you have the shock full of shock oil and there are no leaks around the cap
