Default Any opinions formed on the duratrax raze yet???

I just got the new tower catalog in the mail and it shows a duratrax raze on the cover...After some checking, it looks a lot like the smartech buggies found on ebay...Just wondering if anyone has had an up close look at it as far as quality goes, or is it another one of those cheaper than dirt buggies that don't last?

Its identical to the Smartech Vanguard. RCCA has a thread on it in the new section, there are pictures of both.

I have no positive first person hands on reviews of this car...but

In my opinion, Duratrax has been coming out with a better line of rc cars performance and set up wise. The Evader Pro, Vendetta, and Warhead are all a sign of overall improvement to me. Traxxas has taken a similar approach to compensate it's weaker line of vehicles with the revo and jato it would seem. I wouldn't place as much doubt on the newer vehicles duratrax has to offer. I've seen a few people on these forums throw around the word duratrash, but hopefully those days are in the past...?

why wouldnt traxxas just put a .12 size motor or even a .15 so the jato could race with all the other trucks?

well 1st off most local tracks will allow racers to run their jatos and ect. in 1/10th scale. I mean, in all honestly a .12 cvr is all those trucks can handle on most tracks. Secondly a xxx-nt or an rc10gt is going to be the faster truck at the end of the day anyways. Third is the fact that the people entering the hobby through the rtr market would rather purcahse a 60mph jato instead of a xxx-nt that tops out at around 35 mph.
