bent chassis

i have a Great vigor tomahawk 4x4. a O.S 15 engine with a 15 teeth clutch and i have a 42 teeth middle gear. i am only new to nitro cars and after about ten minutes of running the car the chassis was bent upwards. what did i do wrong? you can see in the photo the bend upwards.

Maybe too many end over end landings ,,,
with those heavy tractor lug tires on backwards
That chassis plate don't look very thick, going to bend it back?

Bend it back and make sure the gear mesh is good. Then see if you can run a piece of something perhaps from the top of the shock towers to re inforce it.

I get the feeling a few of you are suggesting that i cannot drive this thing. well you would be correct. i don't remember how many times it rolled over but it was a few. i didn't crash it into anything though.

anyway i will bend it back. i have some aluminium strip 3mm i was thinking of using that to re-inforce the chassis.

can you get a stronger chassis for the tomahawk?

o yes you can. Nitro trucks have an almost limitless amount of companies making aluminum bodies for them. check tower or ebay. Also flip around those tires please for your own sake lol.

what i did when i ran nitro back in the day (1/8th scale buggies) i took some aluminum (probably 1 or 2 inches wide..something like that) cut it to fit the chassis, drilled holes so it could mount under the chassis from the front to the rear. it protected my chassis from scratches and prevent it from bending or flexing.

let me draw a quick sketch

edit: here you go

third sketch is self explanatory. Its the chassis with the brace on it.

don't drink the stuff sitting in the rear of the photo while driving the truck, and then you might not bend anymore chassis'.

haha bshack I didn't even notice that, nice~

yes keeping alchohol that close to the truck could never be a good thing. if you bent that chassis DUI then o well lol a brace isn't really necessary then... j/k
