Default novak ionic d question

I have a novak ionic d charger and I normally use it to charge 6 cell nimh packs but I recently got a receiver pack and I needed to change the number of cells to 5. But when I tryed to adjust it when it it has to move to 6 to 7 and then 8 cells when you get to 8 cells its alarm goes off because you need an extra power supply to charge 8 cells. The problem is it gets stuck on 8 cells because of the alam so it wont let me select 5 cells for my receiver pack. What sould I do? Also I dont have a extra power supply I only plug it into an outlet. Its kinda hard to explain I hope you understand.

You should probably contact Novak about that one, it could be a problem with the charger. My Ionic just cylced right by the 8 cell option.
