Default Unknown Kyosho Buggy?

Hi all, I really don't know much about RC cars, I purchased a Kyosho Electric 4wd drive buggy at a bootsale today and I was wondering if someone could possibly identify it from the photos for me? It has Kyosho written on the front bumper, 1/10 scale buggy with a belt drive? It has a motor which the seller said cost him 90 extra, is there any way to identify it? It says HPI on it but thats all I know. The speed controller was an extra so wasn't standard with the car. The wheels says schumaker on them and one of the body shells has Wild fire written on the tail bit. Any info on it will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks! Sonya

P.S I have taken some more photos which I will add to my next post

My guess is the sport version of the original Lazer 4WD?

Would have to be a Optima Mid then, Optimas had the motor mounted on the rear of the bulkhead like a 2WD buggy. The shocks are the newer low end Kyote shocks, which doesnt fit for the Optima Mid, as the Optima MID had Gold Shocks....However, those could have been changed anytime in the last 20 years.

Hi Guys, many thanks for that, it does say Optima Mid Custom on the white shell it came with so it must be one of those. Other half has just cleaned him up and resoldered everything and all seems to be working ok. Any ideas how I find out what kind of motor it has? We had the motor out but couldn't find anything written on it.

It is an old Yokomo-based motor, if you take it apart the wind may be marked on the arm, but without a label it will be hard to tell exactly who made the motor as the Yokomo can was used by a huge number of people.

One thing is for sure, it would have never cost 90.
