I have heard that this engine is the best bang for the buck in the hobby. Pulls off of the low end and has respectable top end. As long as you don't race a track with a 200+ft straight you will be able to stay with anything on the market. Novarossis last so long that you get bored of them before they wear out.

I know several guys who have raced this motor and say it's way under rated! I produces more power than you'd expect. It definatly is the best bang for the buck. It might even be too good for a beater, It could be your secret back up weapon! I'm going to get one to back up my RB s7. Which runs great now, but I got it used and I've already put 3 gallons through it. It could give out anyday, and I think this motor will replace it just fine!

sweet, looks like i could race this engine too. i was mainly looking for a beater engine that has good performance too. i don't want to wear out my race engine when i just want to bash. maybe i could get the Novarossi modded and it'll really scream.

I run the 21BF in my MBX5 with a Novarossi 9886 pipe and short header. The motor was crazy tight and didn't loosen up until the two gallon mark. Until it loosens up, the top end isn't that great. It'll also run hot. But once mine loosened up, it has everything a P5 has except for maybe a pinch less bottom. It screams on top and has plenty of power for the off-road track I run it at. The track has big jumps, lots of doubles, triples and the motor works everywhere.

Best bang for the buck in the Nitro R/C engine department by far!

IF you want a basher/practice motor you can't beat an OS Rg21. $109 just about anywhere and enough power to get it done.

I have the top version of the BF21 and it is tight still after one gallon. It runs my Jammin CRT as well as the locals with twice the price for their engines. I am finding the correct tune for it with 30% and wow that thing rocks. Paid $160.00 for the screamer.

You are right. For $60 more than an RG you get more than $60 more performance and lifespan.
