Instead of wasting their time on colors, how about a 2.4 ghz system....

Chris Jarosz 05-13-2006 07:10 AM

where can you buy those?

annie_himself 05-13-2006 08:22 AM

Sanwa? Is that a foreign Airtronics?

Chris Jarosz 05-13-2006 09:31 AM

I cant say im too impressed with what Spektrum has to offer.
Hopefully the new PRO system is alot better than the older one.
Notice NO pro's use it really??
Humm....

I have been racing off and on for 15 yrs and have maybe 3-4 conflicts.
Till it's perfected I will be staying away from it.

I'm not saying spektrum isn't good or bad, but the reason pro's probably don't use it is because they get more money by not using it from their radio sponsor.

playinrc 05-13-2006 03:51 PM

that is true last yr at the nats i asked a couple of the factory drivers why they didn't use it.There was a conflict with there sponsers LRP,NOVAK,AIRTONICS,AND SO ON

Its like a lesson in how to make a sophisticated looking classy high-end controller look like a tacky gaudy peice of junk.

Spektrum, Personal Transponder, Novarossi engine. Those are the best things I've bought in rc. All 3 make racing so much easier. No problems with my Spektrum and been runnng it a year or so in everthing from 1/12 carpet to 1/8 scale.

Conflitcts are avoided, but whats real nice is being able to work on your car in the pits with the radio on.

Hehe, took the words right outta my mouth. The only thing missing is a little set of color-coordinated fuzzy dice to make the cheese factor complete :D

i think the lite blue wheel looks good

some people like all that type of stuff [bling bling ;) ]

tex1 05-14-2006 04:17 PM

Les, you are crazy:)

Les,
If you treat your stuff right you will never have a conflict with Spectrum. I race two times a week and have never had a single problem. Mod and stock sedan (down to a 7 turn), Mod 4x4 (you have seen it), gas truck, Buggy and sedan. It never missed a beat.
However, I have seen some guys have problems with certain BECs not being quite right but that is a different issue. When they are hit hard while comming out of a corner they would dump all of the power to the motor. This will starve the Spec receiver and make it go failsafe.
Conflicts???? I've raced with hundreds of every kind of signal you could imagine. At T&T we even have a police station right over the door that is broadcasting all kinds of stuff.
What kind of conflicts do you see?
What TX do you use?
Receiver.....Synth, Crystals.....?
Seems very odd.
The radio is crazy. At the end of the day I would only get the colored wheel.
Not worth it for me.
Come run some gas with us.

seems like it makes it look almost like a toy radio or something :weird: :weird:
