Default 2006 rc pro series events.

does anybody know who is responsible for the championship race being held in rockford, il. there has been no racing in rockford since 1997-1998, and that was indoor carpet oval, the only r/c racing is quarter scale. if you know anything, please say something. this town has had a good history of racing in the 80's and 90's, but nothing since 98. it needs to go racing again

Vr6 I am not sure what you mean who is responsible for it being held there. Carlton (not sure of the last name) is the owner of RCP if that is what you mean.

I would have to think it was the RCP staff that chose the location for the finials. I think it was decided last year that IL would hold the finals but not sure. Seeing as how the Midwest weather is iffy that time of year they had to find a place that could house this event indoors. I am sure they have looked at many possibilities and picked one that best suited there needs. I am not to far away and will go top 20 or not! Should be a good time.

If I understand it correctly they (RCP) are going to run the race on a temporary track at a convention center ala' supercross.

D Hunt, I think you are thinking of the RCP that we both race at in Madison. The RCP that is being refered to here is RC Pro series.

Oh, ok.

A race in the metro centre, that's sweet!!

So does anyone have any info on classes and dates? I'm guessing it's offroad seeing how it's in the offroad forum.

hell any race is in a building like this would be awesome. just think of the sound of 10 nitro vehicles mmm.....mmm good, i hope that i'm not disrespecting anybody. i just want to thank who ever should be thanked. i mean, this town has one hobbytown, with absolutely 0% interest in racing. the owner is a big airplane guy. his son sells r/c car stuff to backyard bashers, but no racing. i have been racing for 18 years on and off, currently race a mf2. loving every minute if it too, but really miss racing at home. ok to drive an hour(one way), but local racing is much better. if your asking, yes i have done quarter scale too....

well what better way to promote the r/c race scene back into your area than to have a big meet like what has been mentioned.

Guys the races that will be held there will be for a national title in each offroad class, no elect for that one.

In order to qualifiy for that race you have to place in the top 20 in your calss in one of these divisions.

Northeast
West Division
Midwest Division
South Division
East Division

Each division will have four rounds and they will take you best two.

Here are the classes

1/8 Expert Buggy
1/8 Intermediate Buggy
Expert Gas Truck
Monster Truck
ARENA TRUCK
Intermediate Arena Truck
