Some say that the XXXBK1 is better overall than the BK1, not sure why, just have heard that. I have a BK1, and it does really well, especially in the rough. I am pretty sure parts are still available, and if not, I would venture a guess that you could use the BK2 parts for upgrades as well.
Why isn't there a BK1 thread? it seems that all the threads are for the newer models. THe bk2/mfs, xxxnt ad2, b4/t4, all new models.

That car is totally competitive. The only difference is the the bk2 has variable length arms c hubs and rear hub carriers, plus a different transmission that basically uses a different gear ratio. And yes, all the parts are inter changable.
But they are releasing a newer versin of the xxx buggy called the xxxCR, which again changes the rear end, with some added new features. but I think that any generation of the XXX platform is capable in the right hands!

If your running the car at say Knox, you'll be it top hands as this club has some of the fastest stock drivers in the country at the moment, and there always willing to help new comers out.
So running the BK1 won't hurt one bit.
To take the BK1 to the new "CR" coming out should only be rear arms, and hubs, front "VLA" arms and hubs.
And a XXCR rear pivot block.
Also the new steering rack.
So run the BK1 for a while and when the new car comes out, get the parts list and get the new bits as you can afford it.
I would start with the rear end and the steering first, as the front only gives you extra outer holes that you probably won't use.
There are other minor things but I don't think you will need them.
From the picks this is what I can see, but some of the more "in the know" drivers could correct me if I'm wrong.
Cheers, and good luck!

No one runs at Keilor, the track is almost flat. Try to get out to Knox and have a go their. Our next meeting is next weekend.

Yeah I do, nice work. You will enjoy off road. It's where all the fun is. I gave up onroad 1/10th EP as I completely lost enjoyment.
I might be at Keilor on Saturday, I'll stop by and say hello.
Cheers

PS: do you still have a 12th scale

I believe they run anywhere between 9 and 9.5 on that track.
